Jill Jäger is an independent scholar based in Vienna. In 1987, she became Project Leader at the Stockholm Environment Institute, and in 1991, she became Director of the Climate Policy Division of the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy. She joined the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) in 1994, where she was Deputy Director until 1998. After that, she was Executive Director of the International Human Dimensions Programme on Global Environmental Change (IHDP) from 1999 until 2002 and then worked at the Sustainable Europe Research Institute (SERI) from 2004 until 2014. In addition to contributing numerous scientific publications in books and scientific journals, she has participated in a range of research projects focusing on integrated sustainability assessment, climate vulnerability, and sustainability science. She holds a BSc in environmental sciences from the University of East Anglia and a PhD in geography and climatology from the University of Colorado.
