Meena Menon

Meena Menon is a senior consultant on urban policy at Action Aid India, where she has created an urban policy group, a network for labor organizations working with informal labor, and the Urban Action School for policy practitioners. Previously, she was an organizer for a left party in India, a trade union organizer in the textile sector, the India coordinator for Focus on the Global South, and a consultant at the United Nations Development Program. She serves on the International Council of the World Social Forum and was actively involved with the Forum in India. She is the co-author of the acclaimed One Hundred Years, One Hundred Voices: The Mill Workers of Girangaon: An Oral History.
