John Foran
John Foran is a professor of sociology at the University of California, Santa Barbara. His research focuses on movements for radical social change, such as the Zapatistas, Occupy, and the global climate justice movement. His books include Taking Power: On the Origins of Revolutions in the Third World, Fragile Resistance: Social Transformation in Iran from 1500 to the Revolution, and Taking Power or (Re)Making Power: Movements for Radical Social Change and Global Justice. He holds a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley.
