Ben Manski

Ben Manski is Assistant Professor of Sociology and Director of Next System Studies at George Mason University, where he directs Next System Studies. Prior to his academic career, he practiced public interest law for eight years and managed national non-profit organizations, direct action campaigns, and political campaigns and parties for twenty-five years. Manski founded, co-founded, or helped instigate many pro-democracy mobilizations and organizations, including the Democracy Teach-Ins, 180/Movement for Democracy and Education, Liberty Tree Foundation, Move to Amend, Wisconsin Wave, and the Global Climate Strikes. He holds a PhD in sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
